Triple S (Spirituality, Science and Society) 2025 Virtual Conference

BUILDING LIVES AND STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES THROUGH ENGAGEMENT

The theme for this year’s conference was “Building Lives, Strengthening Communities Through Engagement.” Participants attended from several countries and papers addressing the significant issues facing our world were presented. The keynote lecture by Professor Afeisimi Dominic Badaiki, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), set the stage for a very successful conference. What does peace look like and what is the role of ethnicity and religion in conflict? What is the role of meditation in promoting health and well-being? How can we break the barriers that stigma imposes on so many in our world? How can two very divergent religions come into dialog, and what do we know about how the relationship between religion and the state has evolved in some cultures through history? How can we advance health and healing through art and music? What is our role in protecting the human rights of migrants at a time when xenophobia is taking shape in so many societies? As we argue about gender and try to understand what its evolution with times, how have some writers dealt with the subject? These were some of the questions that this conference sought to answer.
