Frequently Asked Questions

Here are frequently asked questions we encounter daily, We hope it answers some question which you may have in mind.

Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a method of treating mental health issues by talking with a mental health professional. It works by helping individuals understand their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Through a series of sessions, clients explore their problems, develop coping strategies, and work towards improving their overall mental health and well-being.

If you are experiencing persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, stress, or other emotional difficulties that interfere with your daily life, relationships, or work, you might benefit from psychotherapy. Additionally, if you have experienced trauma, significant life changes, or are struggling to cope with certain situations, seeking therapy can be a helpful step.

The duration of psychotherapy varies depending on the individual's needs, the type of therapy, and the goals of treatment. Some people may benefit from short-term therapy lasting a few weeks or months, while others may require long-term therapy over several years. The frequency of sessions can also vary, typically ranging from weekly to bi-weekly appointments.

Yes, psychotherapy is confidential. Therapists are bound by ethical and legal standards to protect your privacy. This means that the information you share during therapy sessions is kept private and will not be disclosed without your consent. However, there are exceptions in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if there is a legal requirement to disclose information.

During your first psychotherapy session, the therapist will typically ask about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. It is an opportunity to establish rapport, discuss the therapeutic process, and address any questions or concerns you may have. The therapist may also explain their approach to therapy and outline what you can expect in future sessions.

I am grateful to work with Dr. Oni-Eseleh. I wish I had started working with him earlier. I appreciate his being able to provide fresh. Prospective on whatever we’re discussing and providing me more information from academia, to help me navigate my situation. I am also glad to have a counselor with whom I can openly discuss faith.

Dr Ohiro has helped me figure out and solve a problem I’d wrestled with for 7 years, in one session. Dealing with the fallout will take more time obviously. I appreciate Dr Ohiro switching dynamics where needed (more exploratory when getting into the problem, more firm when setting concrete goals). Kind of like talking to a wise owl reincarnated as a Buddhist monk. Two thumbs up

Dr Oni-Eseleh is amazing and really pays attention to what each party is saying. He’s very experienced and very knowledgeable, he knows what he’s talking about and makes uncomfortable conversations normal and comfortable. He genuinely cares and his response time is great. We would 100% recommend him to anyone.
