This is something I never imagined I would write.

In life, few threads shine as brightly as those woven by love and service. Pastor (Dr.) Lemmy Russel was one such thread, whose vibrant spirit and unwavering faith touched the hearts of countless individuals. Meeting at the University of Benin, he and my youngest sister Bridget, who was then 19 and he 20, blossomed from young students into life partners, marrying shortly after my sister’s graduation. Together, they built a life rich in love, purpose, and generous service to their community.
Tragically, on the night of November 15, 2025, Pastor Lemmy entered a hospital in Nigeria with what appeared to be a minor health complaint. In a matter of hours, he was dead, leaving us all in shock and disbelief just weeks shy of his 61st birthday.
The loss of Pastor Lemmy is immeasurable, the pain profound. We are reeling with painful sorrow, but hope that we will one day be able to turn these feelings into the celebration of a man whose legacy of love and Godliness will forever be an inspiration. May he rest in peace, remembered for the light he brought into the world and the lives he profoundly touched.
Please pray for my sister, and my nieces and nephew. https://www.forevermissed.com/thelegacyoflemmyoarerussel?short_code=VypKoWxq
